Advancement of health research in Northwestern Ontario gets a boost with appointment of Dr. Rudnick to Board of Directors of Research Canada

Research Canada is a national, broad-based alliance dedicated to advancing health research through collaborative advocacy. They engage all sectors – including government – to build support for health research. Research Canada reaches out to media, elected officials, and policy makers to bring greater attention to the critical importance of long-term, sustainable health research funding as an investment in Canada’s future.

On Wednesday, June 13th, 2018, Research Canada held their Annual General Meeting in Ottawa. The day included panel discussions, a Parliamentary Health Research Caucus Luncheon with Members of Parliament and the launch of their new Strategic Plan 2020.

Dr. Abraham (Rami) Rudnick, Executive Vice President, Research and Development at our Hospital and Chief Scientist at the Health Research Institute was on hand at the event to be appointed as a new member of Research Canada’s Board or Directors.

Dr. Rudnick’s involvement will help to bring attention to the research that is taking place at the Health Research Institute and support the advancement of health research in Northwestern Ontario and beyond. Dr. Rudnick is also sharing his expertise to advise Research Canada in organizing their upcoming Rural and Northern Health Research event in Ottawa on October 30th, 2018.
