Regional Cancer Care Northwest: Care Close to Home

Living with cancer is never easy. A cancer diagnosis often affects patients and their loved ones in many different ways.

At Regional Cancer Care Northwest, we treat more than the disease; we care for you and your family. Regional Cancer Care Northwest serves all of Northwestern Ontario from east of White River to the Manitoba border. Our emphasis is on high-quality patient care close to home. We provide radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatment services in Thunder Bay including access to cancer clinical trials. We also provide cancer prevention and screening services, and diagnostic services.

Regional Cancer Care’s, Supportive Care services includes social work and survivorship services, palliative care, registered dietitian services, and other resources that can help lessen the burden during your cancer journey.

We support patients and families living across Northwestern Ontario. Our Centre supports regional patients to receive chemotherapy treatment near their home community at one of the 13 satellite chemotherapy sites located in partnering hospitals throughout Northwestern Ontario.

For patients travelling to the Regional Cancer Centre at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for radiation therapy treatment and other cancer services, our Tbaytel Tamarack House is conveniently located on hospital grounds. Tbaytel Tamarack House provides patients and families from outside Thunder Bay with accommodation and a “home away from home”.
