Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's Cyclotron and Radiopharmacy program is housed in the Health Services Centre at 1040 Oliver Road. This facility utilizes an Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. (ACSI) TR24 PET Cyclotron which will be providing the residents of Northwestern Ontario with PET radiopharmaceuticals to be used in the PET/Nuclear Medicine program at TBRHSC. It also provides a research facility for the production of new radiotracers, biomarkers and unique isotopes for Lakehead University faculty and TBRHRI Scientists. Funding to support the cyclotron and facility came from several sources including the citizens of Thunder Bay and surrounding districts, the City of Thunder Bay, the TBRHS Foundation, the province of Ontario and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, the Canadian Government and FedNor.
