Why smoke-free grounds?
Our Hospital is committed to improving the health of our patients, visitors, staff, and community. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment for those who smoke to be smoke-free while they are on our property or in our Hospital.
It’s the law. Our smoke-free grounds are legislated by the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, Ontario’s provincial smoke-free legislation. In addition to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, our grounds are also included in City of Thunder Bay’sSmoking Prohibition By-law #052-2010.
Our smoke-free property applies to all persons on our grounds
We will support patients, families and staff to be smoke-free while they are at our Hospital. Our smoke-free grounds policy focuses on helping those who want to reduce or quit smoking and/or need support for nicotine addiction while on Hospital property.
