Kids + Books = A Winning Combination. That’s why, on Monday, December 7, representatives from Frontier College (Thunder Bay) brought a selection of brand new books to the Paediatrics Department at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

“We know how much kids love books,” said Hilairy Walters, Frontier College, “and we’ve seen the need for additional reading material here at the hospital. So we are delighted to present these Christmas stories today.”

Chimed in colleague, Elizabeth Taylor, “Books can take you places when you have to stay where you are. We know that kids don’t get a choice about being in the hospital, but they can choose a story that might help take their mind off being here.”

The assortment of books was donated to Frontier College by a variety of publishers and both Walters and Taylor made the decision to give them to the Health Sciences Centre. Said Walters, “When you look at the impact, you can see that so many young lives are touched here, and we’re happy that we can play a small role in that healing process. While others take care of their bodies, we feed their minds.”
