The Regional Bariatric Care Centre (RBCC) uses a patient centered approach to adults living with obesity and related health conditions. The health care team at the RBCC works collaboratively to help improve overall health and quality of life while reducing obesity related health risk/concerns. Personalized care is provided to support patient needs and promote a positive experience. What is Obesity?
Obesity is a complex, chronic disease that requires lifelong management. Obesity is defined as the accumulation of excess body fat that can have negative impact on physical, mental or metabolic health as well as overall quality of life.
There are many different factors that can impact weight.
Obesity is more than just what you eat and how much you move and is not solely within personal control.
