Family CARE Grant Funds Six Much-needed Chairs for Diabetes Centre

The focus of the Chronic Complex Diabetes Centre (CCDC) at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is to help patients manage symptoms of their chronic disease and improve their quality of life. This care of course needs to be provided safely, too. For patients with obesity who come to the clinic, that includes ensuring they have a safe and comfortable place to sit in the waiting room and the five exam rooms.

New Scope Helps Reduce Wait Times for Head and Neck Cancer Patients

Many head and neck cancers appear somewhere along the upper aerodigestive tract, depending on the type of cancer. Oncologists at Regional Cancer Care Northwest can directly see the upper aerodigestive tract using a small camera called a rhinolaryngoscope. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation recently funded another of these remarkable diagnostic cameras.

Exciting Milestone for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's Cardiovascular Surgery Program

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is thrilled to announce a significant milestone for the Cardiovascular Surgery Program project. The Ministry of Health has approved our Hospital’s submission to advance to Stage 3.1, the Final Estimate of Cost Submission, allowing us to proceed to the tendering phase of the project.
