Patients with mobility issues can now exercise their arms, wrists and shoulders while in bed instead of having to be moved to the gym in the Physiotherapy Department. A new, mobile arm ergometer unit, purchased through a Volunteer Association/Health Sciences Foundation Family CARE grant, is easily transported to a patient’s bedside for required cardiovascular strengthening and conditioning, increasing accessibility for these patients.
Please note that our discharge time is 11:00 a.m. for most patients. Please ensure that you have all of your belongings and health card, as well as aftercare instructions and prescriptions as needed. It is important that you understand all instructions about your medication, diet, activity, and return appointments. If you are unsure or have questions about anything, please ask your healthcare provider (Physician or Nurse) before you leave.
The team will assist in answering all non-acute services you require.
Once a discharge order is written you must make arrangements to leave the building to ensure the resources are available as soon as possible for patients requiring services.
