Executive Vice President, Regional Transformation and Integration

Message from Jean Bartkowiak, President and CEO, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and CEO, Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of the Executive Vice President, Regional Transformation and Integration. Jessica Logozzo will begin in this newly created position in the new year to lead initiatives that will better integrate services across the Northwest.

Ms. Logozzo is a collaborative systems thinker who cares deeply about the health care needs of the people of Northwestern Ontario, which she has demonstrated as the Director of System Strategy and Innovation at the North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) as well as Manager, Management Consulting (healthcare) for KPMG Canada. She has a track record of successfully executing on a range of regional initiatives; she holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (focus in Health Services Management) and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Management.

The position of Executive Vice President (EVP), Regional Transformation and Integration, reporting to the Hospital President & CEO, was created in the wake of the dissolution of the Northwest Health Alliance, and will enhance regional programs development to support the small hospitals in Northwestern Ontario. The EVP will be accountable for implementing evidence-based system-level initiatives that advance system integration and transformation. The transformation will focus on a more integrated and interconnected health system by advancing partnerships and collaboration across the continuum of care in Northwestern Ontario.

All the hospitals in Northwestern Ontario collaborated to draft the role description, and 100% of the costs for this multi-partnership role will be covered by the small hospitals. I am grateful to our health care system partners for their active participation on the selection committee. This includes Lucy Bonanno, CEO, Geraldton District Hospital; Adam Brown, CEO, North of Superior Healthcare Group; Tracy Buckler, President & CEO, St. Joseph’s Care Group; Sue Lebeau, President & CEO, Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital; and Patient Family Advisor Cathy Pilot.
