TBRHSC & TBRRI: Appointment of Interim President & CEO

The Boards of Directors of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) and the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute (TBRRI) are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. William McCready – TBRHSC’s current Chief of Staff – as interim President and CEO of TBRHSC and acting CEO of TBRRI. Dr. McCready will assume these roles for both organizations in June, and remain until the engagement of a permanent President and CEO.

Dr. McCready brings extensive experience in medicine, research and teaching. He will be a strong leader for our academic health sciences centre.

Dr. McCready is well known to the community, having worked at TBRHSC and at McKellar as a nephrologist and internist for more than 30 years. He is a Professor of Medicine at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and has published extensively on kidney disease.

Dr. McCready also served as Acting Dean of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine from December 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013.

In the meantime, the Board of Directors for both organizations have begun the recruitment process.
