Dr. Bill McCready, Interim President and CEO of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC), congratulated Dr. Rhonda Crocker Ellacott on her appointment as new President and Chief Executive Officer of Nipigon District Memorial Hospital effective July 1st.

Dr. McCready is also very pleased that Dr. Crocker Ellacott will be retaining her responsibilities at TBRHSC as EVP Patient Services and Chief Nursing Executive. “Nipigon is gaining a very experienced and knowledgeable leader who will bring great value to their operation,” he said. “At the same time, I am very happy that we are not losing her skills and look forward to continuing having her as a valuable member of our team.”

Dr. Crocker Ellacott has over 25 years of experience in the health care field. Over the past 20 years, her role as vice president covered areas including Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Medicine, Cardiology, Ambulatory Care, Maternal and Child Care, Diagnostics, Patient Centred Care and Professional Practice.

She is also an ardent champion of TBRHSC’s core philosophy of Patient and Family Centred Care and has played a critical role in embedding that in every aspect of our operation.

“I am very pleased that the board at Nipigon District Memorial has placed such confidence in me and am looking forward to this new challenge,” said Dr. Crocker Ellacott. “This in no way diminishes my commitment to my role here at TBRHSC. We have accomplished much but there is still much to do and I look forward to continuing that work.”
