Emergency Department Triage Renovations

Renovations to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s Emergency Department (ED) Triage area are currently underway. These renovations are designed to create a more efficient, welcoming, and functional ED for patients, visitors, and staff. To accommodate this work, the ED waiting room has been reconfigured during construction, which is expected to be completed within the next 2–3 weeks.
Please be assured that ED services remain fully operational during this time. Patients will continue to receive the care they need, and these renovations will not affect the quality or level of care provided.
Please note that seating in the ED waiting area is reserved for patients seeking medical attention.
As a reminder, please be aware that patients and visitors who are not attending the ED are asked to use the Main (West) Entrance when entering the Hospital as access from the ED to the Hospital is not accessible.
