Levia Berardi Walks the Talk
by Maryanne Matthews
Levia Berardi is a cook in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s Flavours Cafeteria. As a hardworking and dedicated employee, Levia continuously strives to improve the menu for our patients, visitors, and staff in order to provide a positive experience for those dining at our Hospital. She listens to her customers and tailors the menu to fit their needs and because of her, our cafeteria now offers various items that are vegan and gluten-free. Her commitment to the health and satisfaction of others earned her the Healthy Together Walk the Talk Award.
Walk the Talk Awared winners are nominated by their peers and selected by a review panel. The Healthy Together Award goes to an individual or team who has made significant contributions in support of the healthy together vision and strategic plan of our Health Sciences Centre.
“I am very pleased and thankful to be recognized for the Healthy Together Walk the Talk Award. It feels good to be recognized for the work that I do as I take pride in my tasks and accomplishments,” she said. “Working in a fast-paced environment is what I do best and I enjoy making people happy. What I like most about my job is all the challenges that come with it. I enjoy putting myself to work and seeing what I can accomplish throughout my day.”
