Atrial Fibrillation – Webinar

April 11, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is the most common type of arrhythmia, affecting approximately 350 000 Canadians. Generally, the risk of developing AFib increases with age and with other risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
It can be challenging for individuals with AFib to know when they need medical help or other support. As a result, it is important for people living with this condition and their families to know what to do during an episode, when to seek medical help and how to manage it in general.
You are invited to a webinar presentation on Atrial Fibrillation with cardiologist and Heart & Stroke researcher Dr. Peter Leong-Sit.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

a. Learn more about Atrial Fibrillation: what it is, its causes/risk factors, long-term health implications and self-management

b. Learn about Heart & Stroke resources and tools for management of Atrial Fibrillation.
The target audience is patients and caregivers.
Date: Wednesday April 11, 2018 from 12:00pm EDT – 1:00pm EDT

Presenter: Peter Leong-Sit, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FHRS

Assistant Professor of Medicine, Western University
