Mental Health Awareness Week 2016 Flash Mob

With Acute Mental Health being one of the key priorities in our Strategic Plan 2020, we definitely wanted to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. The annual national event takes place the first week of May and encourages people from all walks of life to learn, talk, reflect and engage with others on all issues relating to mental health.

At Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, our theme was “Moving for Mental Health” and focused on the positive benefits that physical activity can have on mental health and wellness. The week’s activities were kicked off by a surprise flash mob through the cafeteria. Participants included members of the Mental Health Awareness Committee, staff, and representatives from community partners in mental health.
