The Research Program provides the final institutional authorization for research projects and project amendments to begin at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC). Research cannot be initiated without Research Program Authorization, even if ethics approval has been obtained.

The Research Program…

  • is the office responsible for the review, authorization, and tracking of all research projects involving staff, patients, equipment/facilities and data/personal health information at or under the auspices of TBRHSC or TBRHRI
  • reviews projects and project amendments to ensure institutional requirements are met
  • provides the final institutional authorization from the TBRHSC EVP Research, Quality and Academics & CNE for research projects and project amendments to begin, after ethics approval is received
