Thanks to CIBC, the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) hosted one of the lantern stops while the TORONTO 2015 Pam Am Games Torch Relay visited our community on Sunday, May 31st. As Lead Partner of the Games, CIBC selected TBRHSC as one of several celebration sites across Ontario. Those in attendance were treated to a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting (courtesy of the Thunder Bay Clown Club), and the opportunity to take a photo with the official Pan Am Games torch and flame. The event featured Sam McKnight, a community torchbearer and Director of Diagnostic Services at TBRHSC, which includes the Linda Buchan Centre for Breast Screening and Assessment. Sam has been an inspiration to her colleagues and the community as she undergoes treatment for breast cancer at TBRHSC.
