Healthy Opportunities

This is Catherine. Catherine is a Registered Nurse who works on our Intensive Care Unit. Catherine bikes to work so that she is energized to deal with stresses she encounters in her 12 hour shifts, and to spend time outdoors. After a long day of helping our most critical patients, Catherine looks forward to her ride home to wind down. Help our staff stay healthy so that they can provide the right care when you need it.

We have a unique ask of our community: Are you or is your organization interested in championing a project to support healthy opportunities for Hospital employees like Catherine? This could be a meaningful opportunity to collaborate with partners, rally your employees and apply creativity to bring together the required pieces for a new, secure bike shelter at our Hospital. It would mean that more employees, like Catherine, could confidently cycle to work as a way to maintain good physical and mental health.

We’d love to hear from you! Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a community champion to help lead a secure bicycle shelter project at our Hospital.

Interested community members and organizations should request our Expression of Interest documents by submitting an email request to our Hospital’s Purchasing Department at cassidbr@tbh.net with the subject line ‘Expression of Interest No.: 18-44 Document Request’. Respondents that wish to visit our Hospital to collect more information for a response to the EOI (i.e. reviewing site conditions) may reach out to the EOI contact to make arrangements.
