This webinar will be of interest to healthcare professionals across the care continuum who are working with individuals post-stroke.
Objectives:
- reflect on individual and program concepts of community reintegration
- introduce the concept of Personal Projects* and the usefulness of this concept in stroke rehabilitation
- refine an understanding of the following ingredients of return to valued activities: social connectedness, autonomy, hope and adaptation
* Personal Projects: can be used to study the influence of activity on personality and health, we have been using it to explore how people return to valued activities and to help people explore which valued activities they most wish to return to.

Mary Egan is a professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on the process of returning to valued occupations, both in the presence and the absence of therapy. She is also particularly interested in critical reflection on the difficulty of enabling valued activity in a world that often does not understand the complexity of this work.After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar
