The session will also cover current social and political realities for Indigenous communities as well as strategies and responses for improving health outcomes.

Join us for a webinar on Friday, March 22nd 2019.

Details: Friday, March 22nd 12pm-1pm EST

1) Learn about the Native Women’s Association of Canada’s culturally-relevant and gender-based analysis (CRGBA) protocol and how it can be applied;

2) Learn about concepts such as intergenerational trauma, differences between the social determinants of health and Indigenous determinants of health as well as stigma and discrimination and how these experiences contribute to negative health outcomes for Indigenous women and gender-diverse people;

3) Learn about Dr. Downey’s Mending Broken Hearts research, how Indigenous women’s heart health has been negatively impacted by various cultural and social factors, and with a culturally relevant, gender-based perspective, how to work to remedy this problem through training programs.
