Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Welcomes New and Returning Board Members at Annual Meeting

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) celebrated another year of success at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation on June 20, 2024, and are pleased to announce the return of our existing Board of Directors, and the reappointment of the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to a new term. Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) celebrated another year of success at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation on June 20, 2024, and are pleased to announce the return of our existing Board of Directors, and the reappointment of the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to a new term.
Returning to the Board of Directors for a three-year term is Christine Bates.
Continuing their terms of office on the Board are Gord Wickham, Dr. Andrew Dean, Pat Lang, Joy Wakefield, James Peotto, Douglas Judson, Matt Simeoni, Charles Campbell, Kimberly Ferris and Michael Pelletier.
We welcome Jesse Fiddler as the new Community Member on the Governance and Nominating Committee. Darlene Furlong was appointed as the new Community Member on the Patient Safety and Quality of Care Committee.
Recently departed Board Director and Treasurer John Hatton was honoured for his leadership, his passion and dedication to the Hospital and the community.
The Board includes the following ex-officio Directors:
- Rhonda Crocker Ellacott, President and CEO
- Adam Vinet, Chief Nursing Executive
- Bradley Jacobson, Chief of Staff
- Sarita Verma, Dean, President and CEO, NOSM University
- Elrasheed Osman, President, Professional Staff Association
At the Inaugural meeting of the Board of Directors, held immediately following the Annual Meeting, the Officers of the Corporation were elected as follows:
- Chair – Pat Lang
- First Vice Chair – Christine Bates
- Second Vice Chair – Matt Simeoni
- Board Treasurer – Charles Campbell
Joy Wakefield was elected as Chair of the Patient Safety and Quality of Care Committee. Douglas Judson was elected as Chair of the Human Resources Committee.
The Board also announced the re-appointment of CEO Dr. Rhonda Crocker Ellacott to a new 5-year term.
