The Breast Diagnostic Assessment Program (DAP) is designed to streamline breast imaging so that patients receive timely follow-up and diagnosis. Patients who have had a breast cancer screening mammogram through the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) or through their health care provider may be referred for follow up at the Linda Buchan Centre for Breast Screening and Assessment if they receive an abnormal result.

The Linda Buchan Centre offers digital mammography, breast ultrasound, and image-guided breast biopsies, as well as patient support and education via navigation.
Where is the Linda Buchan Centre?
The Linda Buchan Centre is located in the Diagnostic Imaging Department on Level 2 of our Hospital.
If I am sent for further testing, does it mean I have cancer?
It is important to note that a referral for further testing after an abnormal result does not necessarily meant that you have cancer.
If I live in the region, where can I go for follow-up tests?
Most follow-up tests are available at regional Ontario Breast Screening Program sites. However, depending on the type of test, you may be asked to visit the Linda Buchan Centre.
Who was Linda Buchan?
Linda Buchan was a strong advocate in the fight against breast cancer and to celebrate her life and achievements, the Centre was named in her honour. She was a Northern Cancer Research Foundation (NCRF) board member and the founder of the Bearskin Airline Classic.
