Thunder Bay Regional was so thrilled to welcome Matt Murray and the Stanley Cup to our hospital this past week. Thanks to Matt, champion goaltender for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the patients, families and staff were able to share in a very special moment.
For some, this is a chance of a life time, and what we know from our stroke survivor’s recovery stories is that you should always enjoy every moment in your life. So with that in mind, some of the stroke team members went to line up and meet Matt as captured in the picture.
The opportunity to view the Stanley Cup and meet an NHL hockey champion is something that would have otherwise been impossible for our patients who are unable to leave the hospital.
TBRHSC is always aiming to improve the patient experience, and thanks to Matt, some were able to accomplish that in a very unique way. Patients can now look back on their hospital stay and certainly remember a positive and exciting experience.
