Holiday Cash Up for Grabs – Intercity Shopping Centre 50/50 Launches
by Heather Vita
Thunder Bay, ON – It’s back again! Thunder Bay’s most popular 50/50 Cash Draw launched this afternoon at Intercity Shopping Centre. In the past seventeen years, the event has raised $179,715 to advance health care at our Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC). 100% of the funds remain in Northwestern Ontario to support world-class patient and family centred care for the people of our community. This year, one lucky winner will take home up to $25,000 in cash, just in time for Christmas.
Last year’s winner, Patti Poole said, “I would encourage everyone to purchase a ticket – or three – in support of these programs. Funds raised go to a great cause and it’s important for our local community to support exceptional health care right here in Thunder Bay.”
From November 1 until December 22 (or until tickets are sold out, whichever comes sooner) tickets will be available at Intercity Shopping Centre and the Donation Centre (next to Robin’s inside the Hospital). Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and may not be purchased by, or on behalf of persons under the age of 18. Last year tickets sold out so organizers are encouraging people to buy tickets right away.
Proceeds from this year’s draw will continue to support the Northern Cardiac Fund as we continue to enhance our cardiac care program in preparation for a full cardiovascular surgery program in Thunder Bay. Additionally funds will support the well-attended WE-Can Program (Wellness and Exercise for Individuals Living with Cancer), which relies 100% on donations to operate.
This year’s Intercity Shopping Centre 50/50 Cash Draw will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.
