Rehabilitation Intensity
Effective April 1, 2015, the number of minutes the patient participates in rehabilitation therapy must be recorded within the National Rehabilitation Reporting System as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. This data collection comprises the total number of minutes that the patient is actively engaged in face-to-face, one-on-one therapy. This therapy can be provided by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapy assistant, physiotherapy assistant or communicative disorders assistant.
Rehabilitation Intensity
The Ontario Stroke Network (OSN) now CorHealth Ontario -Rehabilitation Intensity Provincial Integrated Working Group developed a toolkit to support the implementation. The Final Report provides a summary of the group’s accomplishments of deliverables identified in the 2015-2016 work plan. Limitations and future considerations with respect to this work are also discussed. This report has been uploaded on the (OSN) CorHealth Ontario website (near the bottom of the webpage) and can be accessed at the following link: http://ontariostrokenetwork.ca/stroke-qbp-resource-centre/stroke-rehabilitation-resource-centre/health-system-level-tools-and-guidelines/health-system-level-tools-guidelines-patient-rehabilitation/
