The NWORSN Committees provide guidance and bring a regional voice to Stroke Network activities.

NWORSN Steering Committee

The NWO Regional Stroke Network Steering Committee provides advice and leadership to its members, and as well supports the implementation and continuous improvement of an integrated system of care within the stroke region, aligned with the Ontario Stroke Network vision and strategic directions.

NWORSN Aboriginal Advisory Committee

The NWORSN Aboriginal Advisory Committee advises and is accountable to the NWORSN Steering Committee in the provision of stroke care and stroke services throughout the continuum (prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and re-integration) as it relates to the Aboriginal people in Northwestern Ontario.

Stroke Education Advisory Committee

The Stroke Education Advisory Committee is accountable to, and advises/informs the NWO Regional Stroke Network Steering Committee on the educational needs, resources and activities required to develop stroke expertise amongst health care professionals throughout Northwestern Ontario.

NWORSN Rehabilitation and Community Engagement Advisory Committee

The Rehabilitation and Community Engagement Advisory Committee advises and is accountable to the NWO Regional Stroke Network Steering Committee on the rehabilitation, long-term care and community needs required to support best practices for stroke care in NWO.

The NWORSN Regional Telestroke Advisory Committee provides a forum to share and discuss issues and opportunities related to the role and function of telestroke sites in Northwestern Ontario with respect to the provision of best practice hyperacute and acute stroke care.

NWORSN Community Stroke Prevention Clinic Nurses Committee

The NWORSN Community Stroke Prevention Clinic Nurses Committee advises and is accountable to the NWO Regional Stroke Network Steering Committee in the provision of stroke care and stroke services for secondary stroke prevention and with a smaller focus with primary stroke prevention as it relates to people at high risk for stroke, recurrent stroke, in Northwestern Ontario.
