SUMMARY:Baby Friendly Initiative – 20 Hour Breast Feeding Course
DESCRIPTION:This is a two day course running Monday\, October 25 – Tuesday\, October 26. You must commit to attending both days. \nAbout this Event\nThis two day introductory course explores\, promotes and supports human lactation and breastfeeding through examining current evidence-based\, best practice. \nParticipants will develop their knowledge and understanding of human lactation and breastfeeding\, to enable them to confidently and effectively implement care that facilitates and supports the initiation and maintenance of breastfeeding. Participants will examine and demonstrate effective assessment and management skills to support breastfeeding in challenging circumstances. \nThis course meets the BFI recommendation for the basic education of staff providing direct care to breastfeeding women and their families. \nPLEASE NOTE: This course is intended for health care professionals at Thunder Bay Health Sciences Centre\, Thunder Bay District Health Unit and regional hospitals. \nDISCLAIMER: Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) reserves the right to cancel any course due to under-enrollment\, instructor illness or inclement weather.\nIf a course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances\, TBRHSC will attempt to reschedule on the earliest possible date(s) available\, TBRHSC is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by attendees due to cancellation or rescheduling. \nCANCELLATION POLICY: If your cancellation is received less than 2 weeks prior to the course start date\, 50% of the course fee will be charged to your credit card.\nYou may also request a one-time transfer to a later course (if space available).
