DESCRIPTION:Join us for this rare learning opportunity!\nThis event is located at the Fort William Historical Park – Canot du Nord \n*Please note registration is closed for this event*\nFort William Historical Park is a majestic reconstruction of the original Fort William that served as the headquarters for the North West Company’s vast fur trading empire from 1803 to 1821. \nAbout this Event: \nThe Center for Medical Simulation’s Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop introduces healthcare education faculty to the foundational practices of the Debriefing with Good Judgment© method of debriefing. This innovative workshop combines an immersive\, daylong\, in-person learning experience with supplemental online learning that includes customized peer-to-peer and mentor feedback. \nHighlights and Benefits: \nDesigned for the busy healthcare educator with limited time\, the Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop: \nImmerses participants in the deliberate practice of debriefing with skills acquired using Debriefing with Good Judgment.\nConnects participants to a community of colleagues where they can continually develop and improve their debriefing\, feedback and bedside teaching skills\nHelps meet the demands of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Simulation Guidelines for Pre-licensure Nursing Programs\nParticipants will have the opportunity to: \n– Learn how to efficiently improve future performance\n– Learn how to set high standards while holding high regard for the learner\n– Treat learners as thinkers and not just doers\n– Practice various debriefing phases\n– The Gateway Debriefing Skills Workshop is intended to be an introduction to the Debriefing with Good Judgment method of debriefing and can serve as a gateway to CMS’ multi-day Simulation Instructor Training Programs held at CMS in Boston and around the world.
