The Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute has developed a Cyclotron and Radiopharmacy program which is housed in the Health Services Centre at 1040 Oliver Road.

This facility utilizes an Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. (ACSI) TR24 PET Cyclotron to provide a research facility for the production of new radiotracers, biomarkers and unique isotopes for Lakehead University faculty as well as TBRHRI Scientists. This facility will also be providing the residents of Northwestern Ontario with PET radiopharmaceuticals to be used in the PET/Nuclear Medicine program at TBRHSC.

Funding to support the cyclotron and facility came from several sources including the citizens of Thunder Bay and surrounding districts, the City of Thunder Bay, the TBRHS Foundation, the province of Ontario and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, the Canadian Government and FedNor."
